With enough experience to be a learning executive, I’m really happy exactly where I’m at—a hands on Learning Experience Designer building custom courses implementing scenarios where they make sense and creating interactions that engage but don’t overwhelm.

Learners want simplicity and efficiency. They want to learn topics in the shortest time possible with as little effort as possible, and I always strive to make that happen, because it’s better to teach a few topics really well than to teach a lot of topics that get lost in a sea of frustration.

You won’t always see every trick I’ve learned in every course I deliver, because I’m experienced in every phase of the instructional design process:

  • Interviewing stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Writing achievable learning objectives
  • Matching learning objectives to business goals
  • Writing content and voiceover scripts
  • Recording and editing audio in Adobe Audition
  • Mixing sound for background music and sound effects
  • Drawing custom characters and scenes in Adobe Illustrator
  • Creating animations in Adobe After Effects and Vyond
  • Editing video with Adobe Premiere, Vyond, and Camtasia
  • Building learning activities in Articulate Storyline 360
  • Compiling courses in Articulate Storyline and Rise 360
  • Managing reviews (separating between objectives review, developmental edit, copy edit & QA, requestor approval, and executive approval)
  • Publishing to SCORM 1.2 and 2004
  • Managing course information on the learning management system (experienced with Workday Learning, Cornerstone Ondemand, Saba, and SAP Litmos.)

I’ve been through enough design reviews to be able to take the harshest of criticism, which I actually find much easier to implement than softball feedback, because it’s a lot more straightforward. So whether I’m getting feedback on a course or for career growth, I’m all ears.

I can fit into just about any team, and I have the technical know-how to learn new software quickly. And if you ever need me to step up and be a leader, I’ve been trained by former executives at Apple University in how to manage people and put it into practice with over 5 years of leading a high-performing team in my time there.

I tend not to show it on the outside, but I’m bursting at the seams with excitement to build new things. Give me your most challenging projects and let me at it!
